Malieveld | Parking and events

t Malieveld is a large lawn in the center of The Hague with an area of more than ten hectares. Malieveld is a household name both inside and outside the city. From The Hague Central you can walk there in no time and you will pass by car when you enter The Hague. And during the Christmas period, the Groot Kerstcircus The Hague is on the Malieveld. From 2019 it will be on the Malieveld Cirque du Soleil Perching regularly for 10 years.

Walk from The Hague Central to Malieveld

It is very good to walk to the Malieveld from The Hague Central. You can take the side exit of the station (where the trams stop). There you turn right when you come out the sliding door and then it is just walking straight ahead! (watch out with crossing!). You can also walk out the main entrance. Then you keep the station in your back and you keep walking straight ahead. Just search for a safe place to cross as a pedestrian! It is approximately a 9 minute walk. If you pass Paviljoen Malieveld, you’re in the right place and you’re there.

Haagse Bos

Originally the Malieveld was part of the Haagse Bos. The Malieveld still borders the forest, so you walk straight into the forest. (well, just cross the Utrecht job by the way). The Hague is green. Very green, because the Haagse Bos alone covers around 100 hectares and extends to the municipality of Wassenaar. It is the perfect place to go for a run, to have a picnic by the water or to walk among the beautiful, old trees. De Koekamp is just right off the Malieveld. It is a forest park with large water features and a deer park that includes red deer and fallow deer. And between De Koemap and Malieveld you can eat delicious poffertjes at Paviljoen Malieveld.
