New underpass at CS
The underpass next to Central Station will be given a makeover. There will be other vowels and rainwater drainage will be improved. It is desperately needed, because the rainwater did not leave out well. This fits in well with the entire refurbishment plan of The Hague Central Station.
This underpass is the vein to the inner city for cyclists and pedestrians. It gets the same type of vowels and pattern that is already on the Turfmarkt and Zwartebrug. There will also be a guideline for the visually impaired.
During the work, the underpass remains accessible to pedestrians and also the shops, restaurants and the government buildings remain accessible. To better drain the water, gutters will be placed at the edges of the so-called Hague carpet, such as at the Turfmarkt.
The work will be completed mid-November. The work will be carried out in three phases so that the walking route to and from The Hague Central Station and shops and businesses remain safe and accessible.
